There are so many different ways we can create awareness for children and adults with special needs.
Sometimes, it’s through the organizations that we work with like:
- Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines
- The Down Syndrome Diary Philippines
- Best Buddies Philippines
- Autism Society of the Philippines
- Association for Adults with Autism Philippines
- Changing the Face of Beauty
- End the R Word
Sometimes, we do work with companies who generously donate their time and services to help our cause by creating PSA’s like this:
Thank you so much to the team at Rappler for helping us put together this informative, eye opening End the R Word PSA. Without your help, expertise, and guidance this would not be possible.
Thank you Beth Frondoso for heading production of this video. Thank you Exxon Ruebe, Charles Salazar, Naoki Mengua, and Franz Lopez for all you did behind the scenes with the teleprompter, the green screen, and the editing process.
Thank you Matteo, Kim, Manu, Daphne, and Maria. I’m hoping that with your influence, people here in the Philippines will see that these words should be eliminated from their vocabulary and not used anymore.
As we are approaching March 2nd, which is End the R Word Day internationally, I can only hope that people will understand just how much these words hurt our beloved Gellibean and those who love her.
For this 25th day of my #29DaysofAwareness campaign, I ask you to please visit our Best Buddies Philippines Facebook page and share our End the R Word videos. Take the pledge at www.r-word.org. And SHARE.
