I have been so super busy lately.
Sometimes, I really feel like there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done.
This is why when Mothers Who Brunch are invited to experience the facilities and enjoy a little pampering at Discovery Primea, Sabrina and I know that we can make time for something like this with the ladies, because it’s such a treat.
We all know that Mommas take care of everyone else first, and ourselves last.
Why do we do this?! Can we all please get better at putting in a little time for ourselves?
I truly enjoy myself, when Sabrina and I get together with some of our momma friends whom we have had the privilege of meeting through blogging. I mean, who does like to get together with the ladies to catch up and vault in?
Located on Ayala Avenue, Discovery Primea is in the heart of Makati. It’s central location makes it easy for the most spoiled of travelers to call Primea, home. The hotel occupies the first 16 floors of the tallest building in Makati city and it most definitely offers a luxurious stay to those who take advantage of the quality of service that the Discovery Leisure Group is known for.
I had told the girls I would be a little late to the gathering because I was coming from our monthly Best Buddies Core group meeting. So I caught up with the girls in Toni & Guy.
But before our primping and pampering with the girls, Mildred Amon, Director of Marketing Communications, gave the ladies a full tour of the hotel and the facilities. I wasn’t able to make the full tour, but I did jump in shortly before some of us were treated to a hair analysis and customized hair and scalp treatment.

While we were having our hair done, the girls and I tried to enjoy our quiet time. We also learned more about the Kerastase products they have on hand from the helpful staff.
While Sabrina, Chessy, and Helene and I were done primping in the salon, we met up with Michelle, Maggie, Seanta, and Tina who were being pampered in the SPA. All of the mommas looked so relaxed, refreshed, and recharged when we convened again for a little shopping time at Lily.
Right next to TONY & GUY, before going downstairs for lunch, we took a quick peak into Lily. Lily Lifestyle Living Gift Shop has a wide array of local and imported baubles that would look lovely in any home. I was particularly drawn to the local items like the Beyond Borders throw blankets and the espadrilles.

It’s actually quite funny, because all the mommas honed in on the same types of items. Functional. Pretty. and Locally Made.
Can you say Great MINDS?
After our little shopping excursion in the hotel gift shop that offers so much more than the average gift shop, we proceeded downstairs to Tapenade.

Can I just say two words?
SALAD ROOM.
Ok. So this salad room is so much more than a room full of salad!
There are cheeses, beautiful cold cuts and cure meats, pâtes, olives, a cold seafood bar, BREAD, and of course a variety of micro greens, different variants of romaine, red leaves, and EVEN raddichio!
As I was making my salad (for my third trip up away from the table) I mentioned to Sabrina that I hadn’t had raddichio in ages.
The Salad Room is open for every meal. However, on Saturdays and Sundays, during lunch, there is an addition feature to this Tapenade staple. The Mediterranean Family Feast adds to the delicious buffet with a U.S. Ribeye carving station, a selection of pizzas, paellas, fresh fish choices, a dessert bar, and a variety of chilled juices.
I cannot tell a lie. I started with cheese and bread, and cold cuts. Then I went back for oysters, mussels, and prawns, which I of course, enjoyed my cocktail sauce with. Sab and I made a joke about my cocktail sauce because over all the sauces and saw sawans that were offered…I chose the most standard of them all. Hehehehe.
I loved how they had a bunch of different olive oils too! I took note, because I would like to infuse some of the lighter olive oils with the same kinds of herbs and spices. I thought it was a lovely option for people who are trying to watch their figure by just sticking to oil and vinegar.
After my third plate from the salad room (which really had salad this time) I wanted to dig into the HUGE prime rib that was waiting for us on the other side of the restaurant.
LOOK AT THAT BEAUTY!
With such a filling lunch, I only had space for some macarons from the dessert buffet. It was a perfect ending to our meal that was filled with banter and laughter from everyone who hadn’t seen each other in so long.
Next on my list to try?
FLAME. Sitting on the 16th floor of the hotel, this restaurant offers a grilled dishes of contemporary continental cuisine and an Enomatic Wine Dispenser.
1824. I am sure Nino and I will enjoy a date night here. With a single malt selection, a cigar bar, and an array of epicurean delights to go with our guilty pleasures, we can sneak away from the kids for an evening of bonding and fun.
