Health & Beauty Review

Fringe Salon Alabang

Sometimes you just need a change.

This past Saturday, I needed exactly that. I was feeling good, and wanting to cut my hair. To be honest, I’ve been struggling with my hair falling out a lot lately, and I realize that it’s quite dry and in need of a hair spa. My rationale in chopping my hair is that it will be a lot less heavy if it’s shorter.

Gia and I had a great time modeling for Guess! We were so happy that Jeanette and Issa asked us to be part of the first Mother/Daughter fashion show in ATC! (Photo Credit: Chic Driven FB page)

I had chatted with Evelyn, the owner of Fringe, when I had gone in to redeem a free hair spa for Gia. We won the hair treatment when Gia and I participated in the Chic Driven Guess fashion show and we wanted to be sure to use it since we had seen that Fringe just opened a while back. We had been meaning to go in and see what the new salon in our neighborhood was all about, and since Fringe sponsored the hair styling for the fashion show and raffled off gift certificates to each of the participants, we had the perfect excuse!

I was super impressed with the attentiveness the staff, and even owner Evelyn, chatted us up while we were visiting. Nino and the boys were also in Commerce Center while Gia was having her treatment, so we were relaxed knowing that after Gia’s hair was done, we would go for dinner next door. When we left the salon that day, I told Gia we should definitely go back for other treatments. (Plus-LOOK at that chair!)

Gia loved the cute little cookies that we were served while she was having her services, and I loved the lemongrass tea.

Evelyn shared that lemongrass tea is really good for the body. After researching just a little I learned that not only is it rich in antioxidants, but it also is good for digestion.

Cuccio is an all natural nail polish that is known for being DBP and Toulene free. These two harmful chemicals are found in many other nail polishes and has been linked to fertility issues and birth defects.

Fast forward to this past Saturday when I had asked my friend Pat to join me in trying out some of the services that Fringe offers. Pat decided to make a day of it with her Mom, and the two of them decided to have the works done, while I fit in what I could before I ran off to my scheduled lunch date with Nino at Mango Tree in BGC. This meant that I would just indulge in a hair spa and a quick cut by Jhomar before I went on to the rest of my day.

Interiors are warm and inviting. Modern but with a twist.

The salon is new and modern, but not the kind of modern that leaves it feeling cold. The stations for each of the stylists are sectioned off by large framed mirrors that still allow for chika chika time if you are visiting with girlfriends. (or daughters)

Good thing Pat was with me when I decided to do this! She shared that another friend Joei also just cut her hair and was donating it. Joei and I decided to donate together.

There are a few things that impressed me about the salon. (more than just the Cadillac of Mani-Pedi chairs) Evelyn shared that when clients come in to have their make up done, the make up artists only use MAC products. I was also impressed that Evelyn had thought of the desire for privacy. Upstairs, she created a private area perfect for small bridal parties or high profile clients who would rather have a much quieter salon experience. This private room good for four people is just beside another private room that can be used for massage, body scrubs, and jacuzzi baths.

Owner, Evelyn has thought of everything. Imagine soaking in the jacuzzi and catching up on your tv shows!

When Evelyn was sharing these details I could see the energy and the passion that she put into her business. Setting herself apart from other salons in the area, she wants to offer services that her clients can come in, sit back, enjoy the variety of services that they desire, and leave feeling as if they have found their “one stop shop” for salon services.

I love my new hair! What do you think?

I have yet to try the many other services that Fringe has to offer, but I sure do look forward to creating a lasting relationship with the salon and the experienced staff who helped me pull off this new look on Saturday.

It’s like that when you find a good salon, right?

It just keeps you coming back.
