I have this friend. I’ve known her for about as long as I’m living here because I met her and her beautiful daughter Maya within the first year that I moved here.
Maya came to my YogaKids classes that I was then teaching in Salcedo Village, and she remained my student for years. I have watched Maya blossom from a shy little peanut to a beautifully confident young girl with an exuberant energy and laugh that is contagious. As I have watched Maya grow I have had the pleasure of nurturing a friendship with her wonderfully generous, mother, Meeta. I have seen Meeta’s love for baking for her daughter become a full fledged business. I have witnessed the loyalty with which Meeta’s customers return to her product again and again. Clients like the fabulously beautiful vegan models to the health conscious ex-pats here in Manila continue to patronize Heart2Hearth in Salcedo Market, because they know home made goodness is hard to come by.

Her savory dishes include: Spicy Coriander Hummus, Hummus with a hint of Mint, and Marinated tofu with Basil, Herbs and Olives
She sells her home baked goods out of the Salcedo Market, making everything fresh on Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning so that her customers can take advantage of the freshest organic ingredients none of which includes dairy OR nuts.

Look for her best-selling cupcakes: Chocolate Strawberry, Banana Chocolate, and Orange Carrot Raisin
YES. You heard that right. Heart2Hearth’s delicious treats are dairy and nut free. There is no processed sugar and since everything she makes she feeds to her daughter, her treats contain only have the finest ingredients.
Her business came out of her love for her daughter, just like so many other mompreneurs who decide to turn what they are really good at into a business. Meeta had been preparing treats for many of Maya’s friends, and their families and as the demand grew, she decided to take it a step further by bringing her goods to the ever popular Salcedo Market on Saturday mornings.
My kids still ask for her chocolate strawberry cupcakes, and the thing I love best about them-is that they have no idea just how good they are for them.
Meeta also takes special orders for allergy free birthday cakes and catering for small parties. To be honest, when Meeta invites me over for lunch I pretty much clear my schedule so that I can enjoy her honest to goodness home cooking. I have taken some cooking classes with Meeta as well. Hopefully, when she is not so busy, she can offer one of her Basic Indian cooking classes for my #crafternoons group too.
If you would like to know more about what Heart2Hearth offers you can visit Meeta every Saturday at the Salcedo Market or you can visit Heart 2 Hearth’s Facebook page. Please tell her I said hello 🙂
hi there
I am so pleased I found a dairy free site in the Philippines. I am just wondering if you do a dairy and egg free birthday cake please? It is for my two kids who are both allergic to dairy, egg, nuts please, they are celebrating their birthday in the Philippines in few months time.
Looking forward for your reply
Kind regards
