During my last visit with Doc Yanee I asked about IV therapy and how I can start taking better care of myself. One of her first recommendations was for me to consider Glutathione injections and a Vitamin drip which is a combination of Glutathione, vitamin c, B complex, and ALA (alpha lipoic acid).
Admittedly, I have been burning the candle at both ends. I have been swamped with work for Best Buddies Philippines, Sabrina and I have taken on more work for Mothers Who Brunch, and not having a nanny to help with Gelli, has limited the amount of work I can do, even when I’m home. It’s also part of the reason why I have not been able to write here on the website, as much as I would like, too.

For this treatment, it’s important to set aside at least one hour of your day so you can relax while you are being infused.
I have this long story about glutathione that had me fighting with my agent along time ago, when I felt that she misrepresented me as a talent. Truth is, I have never considered taking glutathione as a supplement for any kind of health benefits. It was always my understanding that people took “GLUTA” here in the Philippines to make your skin lighter than it actually is.
In fact, there was even a big marketing debacle (or NOT depending on how you look at it) regarding another “gluta brand,” where they touched a nerve with so many Filipinos because they shed some light on the difference between light and dark that are seen not just in advertising here in the Philippines but all over the world. It brought up a discussion that many people have strong opinions about, and the internet was ablaze with judgement and harsh words for both the company and the marketing team for bringing to light, what I know is a concern for many.
Shucks, admittedly, I have even looked into underarm whitening because I know its a more attractive option for me when wearing a swimsuit or sleeveless tops. (That’s another story for another post.)

I’ll definitely continue with this Diode Laser Hair removal, because Doc Ellie informed me that we should start with this before considering any type of underarm whitening treatment.
So, all of this discussion came to a head for me when I finally decided to try some of the options when it came to Intravenous Nutrition at Aesthetic Science Clinic. It has taken me so long to commit to this treatment even after I attended the launch of these services almost a year ago.
I wanted to learn all I could about glutathione and the benefits to using this supplement to add to my overall health and wellness. Obviously, I wasn’t interested in the whitening properties that come along with incorporating gluta into my health care regimen, but I wanted to be sure that I wasn’t shunning this powerful antioxidant that is already found in our bodies, for the wrong reasons.
Everything Glutathione is…
- You can get Glutathione from a healthy diet of cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and radishes.
- Glutathione helps prevent damage done to cells on a daily basis.
- It has anti-aging properties.
- It helps detoxify chemicals that are processed through our bodies which we are subjected to daily.
- Glutathione is depleted over time with age, when your stressed, when your diet suffers and is sugar heavy, when you are exposed to a lot of pollution, and if you’re immune system is compromised.
- Basically, it slows down damage at a cellular level.
Why would someone incorporate Glutathione into their healthcare regimen?
- It can be used to for:
- Cataracts & Glaucoma
- Asthma
- Cancer, Heart Disease, High Cholesterol, Fatty Liver, and Hepatitis
- Memory Loss, Alzheimers, Parkinson’s, and Autism (AUTISM!! I will look into this a little bit more.)
- Psoriasis
- Inflammation
Other Benefits include:
- It can help your body from becoming resistant to drugs.
- It can promote mental clarity and an increase in energy.
- It can improve quality of sleep and combat stress from sleep apnea.
- And it is the ultimate detoxifier and fights oxidative stress.

Kill two birds with one stone? Schedule your facial and cleaning at the same time as your drip. MULTI-tasking at its finest!
What I really learned through all of this research, is that skin whitening side effect happens when one “overdoses” on this supplement. So, if it was someone’s goal to lighten the color of their skin, they would have to take an upwards of 1,000 milligrams daily to achieve this goal. Which also means that my supplemental intravenous therapy of 1,000 milligrams that I would like to enjoy once a week, will not run me the risk of lightening my skin.
HOORAY!!!
I am certainly reassured that I can take full advantage of the health benefits of this peptide which is naturally produced in our livers, in a way that is healthy and productive without trying to whiten the color of my skin!
