I love to shop. But truth be told, I would be quicker to purchase something I need for the house, or something I need for the kids, than to pick up something for myself. For some reason, I feel guilty spending for myself. I know that I have more than enough of anything that I need so picking up something extra for myself isn’t something I do often.

The SoMoms had so much fun trying on clothes together. I forgot how much fun it is to shop with a bunch of women!
When I do, I usually try to make it affordable…something I won’t feel guilty about. Don’t get me wrong. I LIKE nice things, but I often have buyer’s remorse the moment I walk out of the store thinking that the money I spent on myself could have been enjoyed more by the whole family, or could’ve made my home easier to manage.
Truth: I have never walked into any of the Karimadon outlets until fellow SoMom Tin invited us through her friend Karen Go. We had a #BetterMe session in MegaMall at Dad’s awhile back and since we were there, we were able to pay a visit to Karimadon in their MegaMall branch.

Lots of different styles to choose from if you are looking for dresses. Many of these styles can crossover for all different occasions.
We were welcomed with sandwiches and drinks and cupcakes. But honestly, after pigging out at Dad’s I couldn’t eat another thing! I quickly went around and started snapping pics of items I could see myself wearing. (I like the white dress on the left in the pic above and the banded dress second from the right.) I was already planning on trying some dresses on, because the price tags were so affordable, when Eric, head of marketing informed us that we were going to be able to take home one dress or outfit of our choice care of Karimadon! I was even more excited to try on things I wouldn’t normally try on-just so I could step outside of my comfort zone. (I’ve always been a firm believer that we should step outside of our comfort zones every once in a while too.)

Jane, Noemi and I were eager to see what Karimadon was all about. We were there browsing while waiting for the other SoMoms to follow. Here we are with Eric Galos, head of marketing for Karimadon.
What I learned from Eric that day was that Karimadon is a family owned business that began in 1980 by husband and wife team Richard and Josie Go. They employ an in house design team and manufacture their entire line here in the Philippines. With a business that has grown to 16 different stand alone stores (and others inside popular department stores as well) they have continued to provide designs that are stylish, fashionable, and affordable. Josie Go is still hands on with the designs and works closely with Abyand the direction of the company. She approves and sees the designs which go out to over 16 different outlets nationwide.
While I was browsing I saw dresses appropriate for a ladies’ lunch, dresses I would wear to a corporate function, and even cocktail and evening gowns fit for formal affairs. I noticed a great many accessories, and found that the clothes which I tried on were comfortable and easy to care for. I also learned that Karimadon stand alone stores provide alterations to adjust fitting upon customer’s request. All of this at a very affordable price, has me thinking that I will definitely be going back for another dress or two in the near future.

I was able to wear one of my dresses to an interview that I had on Solar Daybreak with Claire Celdran Rodriguez in honor of International Women’s Month. Thanks Karimadon!
As if the one dress that they gifted us, wasn’t enough-I was able to score yet another dress through the raffled prizes that were being drawn all through out our visit! It really was so much fun with the SoMoms and the staff of Karimadon Megamall! The energy was fun, light, positive and happy. Really truly happy.
Tin helped me choose my second dress that I won as part of the raffle. I wore it on Valentine’s Day when Nino and I went out to Caviar for dinner, but I am only realizing now that I didn’t get a full shot of the dress. I will just have to find another excuse to dress up and this time-I will be sure to get a full shot and post to Instagram

The SoMoms had so much fun trying on dresses together. Thank you Karen and the whole Karimadon staff for making us feel so welcome and introducing the many different designs we can own for affordable price tags.
