LUMOS RAY Projector Review

Netflix binging and movie marathons have become a common occurrence in our home over the last two years. #TeamGellibean has always been a fan of the “big screen,” but with the LUMOS RAY projector, we can now enjoy watching our family favorites in almost any location!

All we need is a power source, a white surface, a dimly lit area, and some movie snacks too.

Elegant and Powerful

At first glance, the LUMOS RAY is simple and unassuming. The minimalist and sleek look is unobtrusive in the room, and does not detract from decor or style. The clean and modern lines give way to an inbuilt Dolby Audio system that  can be used  on its own without additional speakers.

Easy to Use

With a plug and play feature, users can access both Netflix and YouTube with ease. The smart play capabilities allows viewers to sign into their own accounts and operate viewing features using the convenient and sleek remote.

What a world of difference from the big and bulky projector that Nino and I used to use when we were presenting for work pitches, or meetings!

The LUMOS RAY has these built in features and apps to make it easier for us to enjoy our movies and series with the whole family. Truth be told-I am not tech savvy at all. So to see that this unit was easy to use with minimal adjustments makes it even more attractive for those who have trouble with new technology.

Compact yet Massive

If you have used other projectors, you know the specs and limitations of basic projectors that are on the market now.

Here are some features that impressed me while we were setting up the screen for Gelli and the kids:

  • This unit is great for both big and smaller rooms. Staying in a condo means you may have limited space. With only 3 meters from projector to wall you can view a 100-inch screen.
  • HD resolution is at 720p but 1080 with Blu-Ray Support.
  • Other projectors are specced at 1,000 Lumens, while LUMOS RAY is specced at 3,000 Lumens. This means that colors will pop and are more vivid when watching your favorite films.

Taking the projector to the beach allowed for sunset Shark Boy and Lava Girl over merienda.

We really thought it would be a fun addition to our recent beach trip to Vivere Azure. Once the sun started to set, we created our make shift screen and were able to project Gelli’s latest obsession of Shark Boy and Lava Girl on the screen while noshing on merienda in the sun warmed water just below our rooms.

Gelli watching her movie. Big kids enjoying Happy Hour. Nino and I in the pool. What a glorious afternoon at Vivere Azure.

Wireless Mirror Casting

The LUMOS RAY is armed with an inbuilt Air Screen app. This means that both iPhone and Android users can mirror smartphone games, music apps, and video calling services to a 100″ screen.

How much fun would my boys have when playing their mobile games with their friends if they could see it on the big screen like this?

Satisfied Customers

Since launching here in the Philippines, the LUMOS brand has received stellar reviews from satisfied customers and tech savvy bloggers. But you don’t have to be tech savvy to take advantage of this unit in your own home. Wish a simple interface and easy to use apps and remote, I was even  able to set up fun movie nights for Gelli both at home and at the beach.

Pre-Order and Get Started

I’m already thinking of another blog post where Gia and I can share our favorite movie snacks. I think it would be so much fun to see how each member of #TeamGellibean enjoys their movies with easy to eat and fun tidbits. I love anything with chips and dip, Nino loves french fries and onion rings, while Gelli loves classic Popcorn in all different flavors. The boys usually go for heavier snacks, and Gia likes something salty and something sweet.

How about you? When you are at home for a #MovieMarathon or binge watching Netflix, what is your favorite snack?

I love it when a @bestbuddies_ph event comes toget I love it when a @bestbuddies_ph event comes together so easily. When Sandra Cheng shared that she was willing to share more about her benefits of @easecox.ig essential oils with our buddies, the team and I quickly brainstormed a program flow that was in line with this opportunity to learn.

Grateful for @monicaemanzano who was so game to share a movement segment from @flowretreats. She thought of @curatedgoodfood who generously shared preservative free dimsum which goes perfectly with our healthy sammies from @h2v2partyneedsandcatering. @komida.foods has been a consistent supporter of our mission and events since last year. We are grateful for their continued mission of providing healthy snacks for our events!

We opened with @joanngue.mlg pranayamic breath work, moved on to a yoga flow with Monica, followed by mindfulness with @enzoarmovit, a gratitude circle, and then esssential oils for beginners with Sandra from Easecox Philippines.

What a wonderful morning spent with our Buddies in BGC!

Thank you to everyone who made this event so easy to conceptualize and mount!

PS. If you would like to be a buddy. Please PM me. Bugsy and I are so blessed to have one another and I love that we get to do things like this together!
Colors. My first girl got to go on her first med Colors.

My first girl got to go on her first medical mission in October.

Gosh, they grow up so fast.

We bought her new scrubs for the trip. It feels like yesterday when I was buying her green skirts and black Mary Janes for grade school.

Now she’s all grown. On her way to becoming a doctor.
At some point during the evening, @gelliaventajado At some point during the evening, @gelliaventajado turned to me and said “Mom, thank you so much for bringing me here. I love Frozen.”

As Gelli continues to grow up, some things remain the same. Her love for princesses, her love for her siblings, having fun with the family, and music and dance in any form.

What an enchanted evening we had visiting the Samsung Theater in @_circuitmakati to watch the FROZEN film in CONCERT with a LIVE ORCHESTRA. From the moment Gelli hear the orchestra’s accompaniment to the film, to the vocalists who sang along, she was mesmerized.

Thank you @dotdigitalph for inviting Gelli to experience this up close and personal!! She had a blast!
