Last Friday, I had a wonderful day planned with the kiddos.
I asked Nino if he could clear his schedule in the late afternoon, so we could spend some quality time with the big kids enjoying some treats that had come my through my writing. Remember the Frozen Ice Skating Party PLDT Home DSL threw a while back? Well, this time they invited all of us to watch Maleficent in a private screening with Diego and his whole family!
I had planned our day well. I asked the kids to go through their closets for the items we still needed to go for school shopping. While they were cleaning up their closets in the morning, Nino was taking care of important matters for work, and I was able to catch up on some backlog writing. I was also able to squeeze in a quick meet up for another business opportunity in social media. Come to think of it, it was really a productive day!
Before Mother’s Day, McDonald’s had sent some of the SoMoms a Mother’s Day treat. Knowing that there was a branch in Power Plant, where we would later watch Disney’s newest take on a fairy tale, made it easy for me to decide where we would have dinner before the movie!
After dinner, we started hanging around the theater.
Before the movie started, there was a short program where Mikaela Lagdameo shared how her family has been enjoying PLDT Home DSL for years. As a steady provider for the Lagdameo family, PLDT’s connection to the internet does not suffer even if the whole Lagdameo family is online together. Be it for her shopping needs, her kids researching animals or finding music for the drums or guitar lessons that they take, internet connectivity is never an issue in her home. Because I am a mother of 4 kids (three of which are already on social media) I can appreciate that kind of dependable connection. We are online (as a family as well) quite often and one thing I would get frustrated with, would be a lag in connection and slower internet speeds because of the number of users.

PLDT Home DSL sharing Family Fun Sized Events and Family Fun online with their connection. Thanks for inviting us to watch Maleficent!
I was grateful to be able to watch Maleficent with the kids, and super happy for the quality time spent taking the big kids out for dinner and the movie. I also love the fact that I see a trend in the movies that Disney is turning out now. From the “true love’s kiss” in Frozen coming from her sister, and now “true love’s kiss” coming from Aurora’s “Fairy God Mother,” it’s clear that we are moving away from the fairy tales of yesterday where a prince has to save the princess….
But that is for another post…on another day…
Hooray for Maleficent!
But Micheeeeelleee!!! I still like the idea of a knight in shining armor, hahaha! MISS YOU!!!
I know, I know, Jane!
I grew up with that same idea of a fairy tale š But in reality…I want my daughters to know that you can write your own fairy tale…and I love that that can include sisters and other women as well!
Miss you too!!!! How can we be neighbors and not see each other often???
