Recently, The New World Hotel Makati invited the SoMoms to a dinner in their Jasmine restaurant showcasing their newly renovated private rooms, and the revamped menu that include a choice of four authentic Cantonese signature sets. I was super excited to attend this dinner in honor of the SoMoms because this was the first time I was attending an event with them after they had asked me to become a member Momma.
I haven’t been to New World in quite some time, (like years?) so, I was excited to visit it again, this time with other mom bloggers who would be trying the new menu as well. It’s always nice to take some time for yourself as a mom, and we used this opportunity to take advantage as a “mom’s night out.”

It’s not often we get to go out sans kids, so the SoMoms were sure to make the most of this night together by filling it with laughter!
The first course was the Dim Sum course. It included Tropical Fruits, a Golden Scallop, and a Wagyu Beef Roll.
The second course was a King Prawn nestled on a Bed of Garlic Noodles.
The third course was Deep Fried Fish Fillet, Salted Egg Yolk and Steamed Egg White
By this time I was so full, I could only manage to “taste” the rest of the dishes instead of clearing my whole plate, like I did with the others.
The fourth course was accompanied by lots of laughter. It was Beef Short Ribs with Black Pepper Sauce and Bok Choy.
The fifth course was Fried Rice with Diced Chicken and Chinese Sausage.
For dessert we had my favorite, Mango Cream with sago.
Chef Wong was sure to come by and say hello after we were done eating with Nini who was our host that evening.

The SoMoms regularly get together for enriching activities. This particular evening was really a great introduction for me, as our dinner was set in a private room in the Jasmine restaurant. This venue enabled us to engage in intimate conversations(which allowed me to get to know some of the other moms quietly) as well as lots of laughter, jokes, and good fun. All the while, we were sure not to disturb any other guests no matter how much fun we were having. We even had our own comfort room within the room, so there was no need to leave!

The best part about indulging in such a wonderful meal is the laughter shared amongst friends…old and new. Thanks ladies for the warm welcome into the SoMoms. I promise I will start practicing my tagalog so you don’t have to keep interpreting the jokes for me!!
Thank you Nini and Chef Wong for the yummy dinner. We were even surprised with oatmeal cookies to take home!

Not only were the SoMoms treated to a fantastic journey into Cantonese Cuisine, but we even got to take home some yummy cookies for the kids! Thank you New World Hotel!

Mich! I don’t think we were quiet!! heehee!! it was great meeting and chatting and getting to know you!! *Fan Girl* moment (and you know why :D)
Aw. I think it’s so sweet that you had a “fan girl” moment. I was glad that we also sat next to one another because it opened my eyes to things I hadn’t considered. I love that you are involved in your advocacy of breastfeeding and the lengths you are willing to go to share it. Looking forward to more “intimate” conversations…even if they aren’t so quiet!
I missed this dinner! Food looks scrumptious! Loved their dimsum the first time I went.
Welcome to SoMoms Mish!
Oh Michelle, this really was a good dinner. I’m sure there will be others and I’m really looking forward to connecting more! Long live SoMoms! Yehey 🙂
