CDP Rockwell (aka Chefs du Partie) was birthed in 2014 when Chef Katrina, Chef Malou, and Chef Kristine came together to offer a fun place to relax and unwind with great food and delicious cocktails.
For those of you that are mommas, you know that the summer months are always chockfull of activities for both the kiddos.
These activities also include activities for me, as their momma, especially during the month of May.
May is Mother’s Month, and with the coming of this sweltering summer month, comes a plethora of invitations celebrating the gift of motherhood and all that this job encompasses.
Sabrina and I have been so busy for Mothers Who Brunch and we have truly enjoyed the challenges presented us, with brands that we love collaborating with. It’s one of the things that we love about the other job that we have to do.
Recently, our friends over at CDP invited Mothers Who Brunch for a #HappyLunch highlighting some of their most popular dishes and introducing some of their new lunch specials. Chef Katrina, Chef Malou, and Chef Kristine believe that all lunches should be happy and that if we want to lunch with our momma friends, that there is absolutely #NoJudgement in enjoying a drink or two before we head back to our most important job we are gifted with.
Sabrina and I don’t get to chit chat as much when we are hosting events with our momma friends. Because we work so hard during the different events that we mount, it leaves little room for us to sit down and truly connect with the mommas who come out to support us.
But on this particular day, all we had to do was think of some fun conversation starters, and enjoy the delicious food and fare that was coming out from CDP’s experienced kitchen. Did I mention that this was a lunch that was a breath of fresh air?
It was so refreshing to sit. Chat. Laugh. And share little parts of ourselves and our stories over food that Sabrina and I did NOT have to prepare!
Here are some of the dishes that we all enjoyed together:
These deep fried Squash flowers were served with a Blue Cheese Sauce that was the perfect compliment to these crispy treats.
Made with their very own home made chorizo, CDP elevates quesadillas to another level.
I wasn’t sure which bowl of mussels I loved more?
Which one do you think you would enjoy?
Mussels in Taragon Cream?
Mussels in a flavorful Curry Sauce?
Mussels in a Tomatoe Clam Broth?
Fancy Fancy Salad of Manuka Chevre was so refreshing that I could possibly make a meal out of this one.
Even when I took my friends Jon and Jayne to CDP when they were visiting from Florida, this appetizer was a hit for all of us. Perfectly seared pepper tuna nestled in raddicio and romaine lettuce.
I think this Prawn Papardelle was a big hit with the mommas. But we were starting to slow down as the food kept coming and our tummies were already so full!
One of their best sellers, this Lobster Vongole is a favorite between Nino and me.
Much different than any other pasta you will try, we like this Duck Olio because the flavors are simple with garlic and olive oil, yet it feels luxurious, because we just don’t get to enjoy duck that often!
Perfect for the kiddos, Chicken Cordon Blue can be shared with an adult or even two other kiddos. With such a generous portion, it’s definitely cost effective, too!
Who doesn’t love Steak Frites? And served perfectly cooked. Rare. Just the way it should be.
Not being familiar with what this dish was, I was really curious what Lemon Posset had in store for us. Topped with a fruit compote, and with the consistency that was reminiscent of lemon curd crossed with vanilla pudding, it was perfectly balanced for me, as a lemon lover.
Chocolate lovers will not be disappointed with this rich chocolatey Kahlua Cake. Alternating bites of Lemon Posset and Chocolate Kahlua Cake was like a party in mouth!
And for those of us that like to take coffee with our dessert, this Americana loved her Americano, and it was the perfect ending.
You know what was even more fun about this relaxed lunch that we enjoyed together? Relishing in the idea that one day, we would all be blessed with the opportunity to grow from Mothers Who Brunch to Lolas who Lunch.
This group of Lolas reminded us that if we are blessed enough to grow old together, we would still have our girlfriends to lean on.
These lolas were all so cute, and many came with pasalubong for each other. They were just as noisy as we were (if not louder) and they also enjoyed the friendship that is shared amongst women when indulging in great food and good drink.
CHEERS!
Be sure to check out CDP in Rockwell. It’s one of our favorite lunch date places, Wine Wednesday places, and now add to the list the Cheese Night that they just launched, we might be visiting sooner rather than later!
