Last week was filled with a whirlwind of activities.
With World Down Syndrome Day to prepare for, and a few engagements for the website, I was given a plethora of information on how to make healthier choices for myself, and of course for my family.
Truth be told, I have been trying to make better decisions with our family’s food intake, since Gelli was born.
I did this, not only, with the raw ingredients that I would purchase to prepare our meals, but I also was able to add to this process by choosing healthier ways to cook and prepare those dishes, as well.
The first small kitchen appliance that I purchased in the quest to prepare healthier meals for my family, was the Philips Airfryer.
As a health and wellness advocate, I was asked to put together a small presentation, highlighting all the benefits of Philips’ small countertop appliances that streamline my time in the kitchen AND foster healthy living for their Philips country-wide Roadshow.
In 2014, this partnership with Philips allowed me to visit different malls with the team, and talk about all the ways I could make our family’s meals healthier with the help of three different Philips appliances. From the Pressure Cooker, to the Nut Milk Maker, and of course the Airfryer, I shared a little bit about how these small appliances showcased Philips Innovation in the kitchen, for our family.
It was because of this engagement that I even started following different groups on Facebook where Airfryer users would share their recipes! YES! There is such a group! And they have some pretty awesome recipes too!

During this Nutrition Workshop, the contestants were challenged to create meals and snacks in The Haëcker Kitchen.
Now, I am pretty sure that The Century Tuna Superbods and the Ageless Competitors are very good at preparing their OWN healthy meals.
They are, after all, participating in a fitness competition where they are showcasing their ability to stay fit, at any age, AND through any set of circumstances. Their level of commitment far outweighs my level of commitment and you can see the obvious differences when you take into consideration their beautiful physiques.

But I suppose the question we have is, “How can brands like Philips, Mabe, and Ariston help the average person create healthy dishes, even if we are not committed to the fitness industry like these beauties above?”

Norman Reynoso explains: As part of their prizes, the individuals who will be named Century Tuna’s Superbods and Ageless Winners will take home an assortment of appliances from CYA Industries
During this Nutrition Workshop, the competitors learned first hand from Norman how these brands can help all of us make healthier choices, and even better decisions for the environment.
Each Century Tuna winner will take home prizes worth over P250,000 in large and small appliances!
I am pretty sure all of these appliances will make life easier for the winners by streamlining meal preparation and allowing them to be better to the environment as well.
They will be able to care for themselves and their families with these three anchor brands of CYA Industries:
1. MABE
MABE has been a proud GE appliances partner since 1987, producing appliances for GE’s U.S market that implement inverter technology, not only making them more efficient, but also better for the environment and the end user. MABE technology allows us to seek comfort in the idea that “When your HOME works. Everything works.”

Stocking the pantry was not only fun, but enabled our Mothers Who Brunch participants the ability to take full advantage of all the equipment neccessary to cook a full meal.
Luckily, I have had the pleasure of working with CYA Industries in the Haëcker Kitchen Showroom. I have had the ability to see first hand, the technology that INDESIT-ARISTON brings to the happy home cook, who wants healthier AND quicker options.

Working in the Haëcker kitchen was a not only fun, it was educational.
From the steam oven capabilities to the power of a booster induction for stove top convenience, these appliances not only allow the end user to make healthier decisions, they allow the home chef mom to make life easier when preparing a meal for the whole family. Induction stove tops can cut cooking time in half, when used properly!
3. PHILIPS
PHILIPS small kitchen appliances have been in my kitchen for years now, and because of my experience, I know and understand the concept behind their tagline: “Nothing Beats Healthy Eats with Philips.”
I am pretty sure that the winners of the Century Tuna Superbods and the Ageless competition will make good use of all of the prizes from CYA Industries. I know I would. (Especially that AIRFRYER!)
Participants also learned some new recipes from health and wellness advocate and U.S. certified nutrionist, Nadine Tengco.
I was actually thinking to myself how helpful this workshop was for me to attend.
The night before, I attended another event where I learned about all of the different herbs and spices we can include in our food to promote blood circulation, heart health, and overall wellness.
This event was a little bit different only because, Nadine was sharing different ways we can eat that would promote tummy health. She not only gave us different foods that would alleviate bloating and swelling, she also gave us recipes that can be prepared with ease, by way of Philips small countertop appliances.
Can you see all of these things coming into alignment for me?
With the new found understanding of the different foods that I can incorporate into our diet, and the use of herbs and spices to further wellness, I already feel like a winner when it comes to spending my time in the kitchen.
So if I envision a life of “winning,” at every stage of the game, I will need my coaches, guides, and mentors. In addition to my mentors who I learn from, I will also need the tools necessary in creating healthy meals for a busy momma like me.
So, if it’s anything that attending this workshop did for me, it is to reinforce the understanding that I need help in the kitchen creating nutritious meals that are high in protein and nutrients, that are tasty AND good for my family.
I can do this with the help of many different appliances that complete my kitchen arsenal.
And because I use my Philips Food Processor often, I am happy to share how this small kitchen appliance helps further health and wellness in our home.
This is a healthier take on an Italian staple in my fridge.
By adding a little bit of Malungay to this Italian pasta sauce, I have increased the benefits of your average pesto, ten fold.
Here are just some of the ways that Basil Malungay Pesto promotes healthier living:
- Normalizes Blood Sugar
- Anti-infectious
- Antibacterial
- Antifungal
- Anticancer
- Anti-inflammatory
- Good for breastfeeding
- Strengthens the Immune System
- Restores skin
- Relieves headaches
- Treats common colds
- Heals ulcers
[yumprint-recipe id=’32’]Now…if only I could remodel my OWN kitchen to house all of my favorites appliances in a sleek way that provides more opportunities at every counter, I could whip up our meals faster and with ease.
I think that might be a job for Nino!!!!
