We have had a rough week. For those of you that know us, we suffered a great loss, and had a big scare when Nino was diagnosed with Dengue.
Between going back and forth to the services for Lola, and taking care of my patient in the hospital, and then coming home for a quick bite and refresh…my kids were crying out for my attention.
The end of the week was welcomed with an invitation to an event that would prove to be exactly what we all needed.
I didn’t know if I was going to be able to take them to this event, so I didn’t tell them about it until I was sure that Nino would be home resting, and all of my responsibilities were addressed.
Hooray for a nice breather after a week that was very challenging! The PLDT Home DSL Frozen Ice Skating Party was just what we all needed after a long week. My kids were looking forward to the time we would have together and of course the opportunity to go ice skating since the heat has been so sweltering lately.

We were so happy to see the Guidote family. We knew it was going to be a good show when Sofia took the ice.
When we were still living in Monroe, NY, and had the ponds that would be cleared every winter, so we could skate as a family, I bought Gia her first pair of ice skates. It has been 7 years since we left the cold weather, so I was pretty sure Gia would feel like she was starting from scratch again once we got on the ice. Of course, this was also the first time that either of the boys were able to slap on a pair of blades-so I knew for sure it would be a fun experience.

As predicted…my little athlete figured out how to move around on his blades a lot quicker than his siblings.

We were even able to catch up with another blogger friend of mine Janice and her girls Zoe and Ziya on the ice.
The kids indulged in shaved ice, Gelli was able to take some coloring pages home, and they were able to make some new friends. It was a great way to cap off a week that was very challenging.
The kids even got to meet Diego! Sayang, I didn’t have time to snap a picture of everyone together 🙁

Diego posted this invite on his Facebook page for the Ice Skating Party. (Screen shot taken from Ask Diego Facebook Page.)

Gelli was a little freaked out at first, but when realized that Olaf would do her no harm, she quickly “warmed” up to him.
Thanks PLDT for inviting us to your Frozen Ice Skating Party! We had such a great time that Diego wants to go ice skating for his birthday!

PLDT was so generous giving each of my kids their own Frozen video. After sharing a video and magazine with my ina anak, we still have two extra sets of a video and official magazine. If you would like to enter for a chance to win follow the instructions. If you are a winner-you must answer my email within the week so that I can ship in a timely fashion.
