Health & Beauty Review

Red Lippies

When I was younger, I preferred lippies that were frosty or brown. In fact, I have favored frosted browns for much of my adult life.

And yes…that means I’m dating myself to wearing this shade of lipstick that was popular in the early 90’s. A recent friend of mine who is a MUA shared that those shades might in fact be coming back…

WOOHOO!!! I have been waiting for that Chinky! I’m thinking back to our conversation with Arlu and Cristina and giggling just a little bit inside as you all tried to make me as current as possible when it came to my lipstick choices…

BUT…I know the new color of the year is Marsala. And to be honest, I really do try and steer clear of red lippies. I have always felt that wearing a red lipstick was too much for me.

Whenever I have put on red lipstick, I felt like I was TTH (Trying Too Hard) and like maybe I would be warranting some kind of attention I really didn’t want. I have felt that women who were a little older than me could pull of lips of bright red colors, but that it most definitely was not the color for me.

Nail polish. Yes. Lipstick No.

So when I came across this Marsala colored lipppie…I realized I may have found the perfect red for me!

Check it out.

Now this is a shade of red I can wear! Look @tech_teboojeyra! Spiked with Rum lipstick from #wetnwildph #purebeauty @purebeautyph

What do you think? I think I will start looking for more burgundy wine colors like this…another friend of mine suggested another color she was familiar with…I’ll look for it soon…but for now 🙂 I’ll rock this one out.

You know what’s even funnier? Wet ‘N Wild was probably the first brand of drugstore make up that I bought as a teenager. I had my electric blue eyeliner when I was about 14 years old. And it’s a brand that is still around today!

OMG, I totally remember Wet-n-Wild. Specifically, a peach frosted lip gloss (with wand). Oh my, LOL.

Right??? I rocked the blue eyeliner. As in Electric Blue. Like Debbie Gibson. All out.
