4 KIDS Review

School’s Back in Session

And they’re back….

In school…

We still have to buy black leather shoes for one kid, pick up skirts for the biggest kid, buy pants for the big boy, and pay a visit to National where I will give everyone their lists to go get what they need to fill their bags. So, as I make my rounds of the department stores and malls this weekend to buy the last minute supplies and parts of their uniforms I have one thing already ticked off my list for Gellibean.

This kid is ready for school with her lunch box and little kid backpack.

Gellibean has her bag and her lunchbox, and I believe, it’s the cutest set we have picked up for her so far.

I’m not one to get a new bag and new lunchbox every year. I believe in buying quality supplies and bags that will last. I don’t necessarily go with what’s trending when choosing these kind of supplies, I tend go with what works for the kids, what’s easy to care for, and what can withstand the rough hands of my kids. (Diego is the roughest of the bunch.)

When I was invited to the launch of the newest brand that my friends Oli and Louren are carrying through their company Quirks Marketing, I knew I might be able to find something that would be a good fit for Gelli.

OK. I admit it. I saw the OWL and fell in love. When Oli first posted a video of Papar, her “owltude” made me think that she was perfect for Gellibean. But I also wanted to know more about the brand that so many of the stars are choosing for their own kids.

Seriously…these bags and lunchboxes are so cute that it seems like everyone is carrying them now!

Since I was a little early for the event, I explored the Aruga by Rockwell Unit and snapped some photos of all the bags displayed. Can you say super cute?

If I didn’t get Papar for Gellibean, Percival would have been my second choice.

C'mon. You knew that I loved Owls right?

And Alexander the robot would be a perfect fit for Diego if he was just a few years younger. Now that he’s double digits, I’m not so sure he would like this set anymore.

Lucas

Lucas keeps your bento box in place. All lunchboxes retail for Php 1,695.

Quirks Marketing is the company behind quite a few of the brands that many of you might already know and be familiar with. The company started in 2007 by Oliver Sy. He has a really good eye for design and knows quality HOME and BABY brands. Some of the other brands that Quirks handles are Dwell Studio, Built NY, BabyPlus, Obaby, and LolliLIVING. Now that he has found the love of his life, Louren and Oli are both committed to bringing only the best that happy homemakers like me and mother would want for their kiddos.

I super loved this duvet set. I wanted to take it home for myself, but I wasn’t sure Nino would dig the mustard yellow trim. Our duvets are usually very simple…I’ll show you what I was able to pick up in another post soon.

Here, Louren is explaining the affinity that Oli has always had for everything kiddy…but TASTEFULLY done. You can see it in all the brands they carry. They are classy and well made.

And BEATRIX NY is no exception.

Why do I like this brand?

  • It’s from NY, duh!
  • It was started by a momma who saw the need for quality bags, with sophisticated designs, which were well made.
  • TESTED-PVC Free, phthalate free, lead free, and BPA free
  • There is a built in back zipper pocket for notes in the lunchbox.
  • There’s a built in tag so you can easily hunt down the lunchbox/bag in the lost and found.
  • Made with heavy duty nylon which is MACHINE WASHABLE and easy to clean.

@olidex demonstrates how easy it is to keep up with messy kids and #beatrixph. Throw the lunchbox in the washer and let it dry out. Yes. That easy. #arugabyrockwell

HELLOOO! The last reason is most definitely the MOST important characteristic I would look for in a lunchbox. Sometimes they get sticky, smelly, and stained. WASHABLE? YES, please. Thank you. And guess what? After Oli washed the lunchbox (through the spin cycle and all) it came out looking like this.

Oli with his favorite design Fei Fei after it has been thrown in the washer! Don't get too excited, Mommas. This design is not available here. You can ask Oli for this one, but then he would have nothing to bring his lunch to the office in.

Kristin! They are from NY! So easy to find them there 🙂 Get one for your lil. I’m pretty sure Cam wouldn’t want a dinosaur lunchbox when you send him off to college? Is he in college already? I remember he’s a couple of years older than Gia?
