One of the things I love most about doing the weekly grocery shopping, is finding new products that can make my life easier in the kitchen and at home. There are a few places that I like to frequent for the different items we use weekly and monthly in the house, and Shopwise is on my list of go to grocery stores for a variety of reasons. Recently, I was invited to the grand launch of Shopwise Lancaster, and I was so happy that Nino could join me for this super bongga event that had me explore these new digs just a little bit further south.
Once we arrived at Shopwise’s newest location, I knew that it was going to be a grand celebration of everything Shopwise is known for. This supermarket is an eighteen year old brand that has been serving generations of shoppers who are not only looking for quality meats, fish, and produce, but also the modern convenience of being able to consolidate where we shop for what we need for our households at affordable prices.
I always love it when Nino joins me for events like these. It means I actually get to be in some of the photos as well.
Erica Padilla opened up as the emcee of the program following the dance program of the cheer dancers. Shopwise executives, welcomed us into the hyper supermarket, and special guest appearances were spaced all through out the day, leading up to a very special concert by Up Dharma Down.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay for the concert (momma duties) but we had a great time exploring the supermarket with all of the deals and steals that they were offering shoppers for the day!
Here’s what we saw:
Produce that was not only FRESH but LOCAL.
Sometimes, I crave the fruit I grew up with…
And nectarines from Australia are the perfect fix.
And here they are, in all their glory front row and center at Shopwise Lancaster.
One thing I have learned is that I can save a peso or two by buying the store brand Sure Buy.
Taking advantage of Shopwise’s in-house store brand for a variety of different staples can make a big difference when it comes time to check out at the register.
Even bigger deals were seen all through out the store for the GRAND OPENING.
Like Buy One Take One on rice, chicken, bread, and even household items like hangers were where you could see shoppers taking advantage of the celebration.
But Nino and I were having fun exploring this new, sweet smelling, well organized supermarket.

Magnolia Chicken Station DOES make my life easier when I’m in a hurry. From their breaded chicken strips that I can fry up quick and throw in the Yumbox, to the Chicken Inasal which I have yet to learn how to make…
With some of the usual suspects…
And the usual staples that we have in the ref and or the pantry, like Kewpie Salad Dressing and Mayo.
And when my love asked me to pose for him. I did.
But not before I inspected and perused all the BIG SAVINGS PACKS for my family of six…

I do what I do for everyone in this photo, including making sure the house is well stocked with all the food that these five humans enjoy.
AND because Shopwise Lancaster also wanted to give us the opportunity to have a little bit more fun, we were given the chance to GUESS HOW MUCH the SHOPPING CART is worth.

Erica asked 10 of the guests at the launch to come up with a number closest to the total of the ingredients of the cart.
I must confess, I was way off. And here I was hoping I could not only take home the ingredients IN THE CART, but I was also hoping to win the gift certificates that the person who guessed correctly was awarded for her stellar guessing skills….

While exploring, Nino and I found the wine section…and I was curious to see what Shopwise was carrying in terms of Australian and Italian Wine.
After eating breakfast with everyone, Nino and I even had time to explore the food court, and the rest of the store after the doors were open to the public.
I went back to explore some of the meats and was surprised to see that there was a variety of both local and imported meats.
I also went back to take a look at the mangosteen, passion fruit, rambutan, and daladan. These are all the same local fruits that I love keeping in the house. Of course, each of my kiddos has their favorite.
Healthier options that are sugar free just make me feel like a better mom when I bring it to the table in the morning with hot pandesal.
And because we had to head back to Alabang to visit with my Best Buddies DLSZ, it was right around this time that we proceeded to the check out.
You know one thing I loved about this experience?
There was a chance to give immediate feedback about my experience.
And that was when I realized, none of the other supermarkets that I frequent, have EVER offered this ability to me.
Nor do they have runners…er…bladers readily available and at your service.
Are you wondering why he’s wearing roller blades?
Well, you know when you get to the register and maybe one of your items doesn’t have a sku? This smiley guy right here will blade across the store with a swiftness and will be back with the correct price tag so you aren’t waiting at the register as long as you normally would…
Cool right?
