4 KIDS Dining Review

Sofitel Manila Sunday Brunch with The Little Prince

Champagne and white wine are all chilled and ready to be poured.

Champagne and white wine are all chilled and ready to be poured.

Brunch is probably my most favorite meal to prepare. It leaves so much room to interpret what you would like to eat or serve. If I’m serving brunch, I can put anything on the table from eggs, to sweets, to pasta and fish. It’s part of the reason why I love it so much! You can go heavy and hearty, or light and sweet…And brunch wouldn’t really be brunch, if you didn’t indulge in a mimosa or two, or better yet a nice glass of bubbly.

I always enjoy the one on one time I spend with each of my kids.

Diego was my date for the day 🙂 I always enjoy the one on one time I spend with each of my kids.

Recently the SoMoms and SoKids were invited to enjoy the champagne brunch with The Little Prince at Sofitel Manila Hotel. I knew that it would be the perfect bonding opportunity for Diego and I to have our one on one date.

The last time I was at Sofitel for the Spiral Buffet it was Nino’s birthday, and I was pregnant with Gellibean. That was three years ago, and before their renovations! I remember totally loving the Thai station at that time because I was seriously into pomelo salad. What I didn’t know back then, is that you have a choice. You can opt for the buffet with or without alcohol. (Of course at that time-I did not have any alcohol.) Since it was such a long time since I visited, it was fantastic to see how the buffet has grown from 7 to over 20 stations!

There are so many healthy choices! You can choose your salad dressing, ask the attendant to add the dressing and take your salad back to your table shake shake shaking it! NOTE that there is a an allergen in this dish and it clearly states that for those who might be concerned.

Before we ventured off on our own to explore the buffet, Blessy shared some of the changes that took place during the renovation. The area where we were seated was actually, open air, prior to the changes that Sofitel made. They also added a ton more stations, and once the champagne was poured for the mommas who were able to have as sip of the bubbly, the  balloon twister came around to entertain the kids.

All of the kids loved their balloons and props they received.

The kids were all mesmerized by the balloons which were twisted and pulled into works of art or toys . Of course, Diego ended up with a balloon sword…

The Cheese Room (a.k.a. L’Epicerie) was Diego’s favorite place to visit while checking out the buffet. (even more than the dessert station!) He kept going back for his favorite Manchego cheese and then even took a picture of his plate that was full of cheese to iMessage to his dad so that he knew he was eating Manchego for him.

Diego really enjoyed the different selection of cheeses, most especially the Manchego.

Amy had shared that The Little Prince roams the restaurant all day, chatting with the kids and giving away chocolate lollipops that are available for sale as well, just in case your kids love ’em that much, that you need to take some home.

At 4pm, there is a maze activity led by The Little Prince. We couldn't make it last Sunday, but maybe we can do this activity the next we are there with all the kids.

In fact, if you come a little bit later for the brunch, the kids can go through the maze at around 4pm with him and find their way around. Even the place mats fit The Little Prince theme!

In fact, The Little Prince was the theme of the day...even the place mats for the kids had activities for the kids to do.

There are tons of activities for the kids to get involved in! Spiral is such a great place to eat with the kids because after you feed them, you can send them off to the activities which are with in your view while you enjoy the bountiful buffet, leisurely. We know that we must eat leisurely, when there is THAT much food in front of you! It’s a take your time kind of Sunday-when you go for brunch at Spiral!

All the kids were assisted in making butter cookies to take home. They can fill their tray up and when they come back from playing the cookies have been baked, cooled, and put in a take home bag with their name.

Aside from the cookie making, there is a children’s tent, playground, and of course, Gymboree is still there for the parents who want to drop off the kids to play and catch some one on one with their partner.

Leaving the kids at the children’s tent is easy when you purchase a craft kit and pay by the hour. Just make sure to bring your own socks 🙂

Sofitel really has thought of everything for when you visit. If you decide you would like to take some pretty flowers home for the table, all you have to do is ask them to put together a bouquet for you.  As someone who loves the excuse to put fresh flowers on the table-seeing the cart full of available bouquets ready for purchase was something to take note of.

Who wouldn't want this beautiful bouquet for their table?

Diego and I had so much fun hanging with Blessy and her daughter Sophia and all the SoMoms and SoKids. We are already planning our next visit so that Diego can bring his siblings (and his dad) for some more family bonding.

If you are interested in visiting Spiral and their all you can eat buffet with over 20+ stations for you to indulge in you can make reservations by visiting  their reservation site. If you decide to avail of the buffet inclusive of champagne and wine it’s a little over P4000. If you would opt for the non alcoholic buffet it’s about P3300+, while children 5-11 years old are P1800+. Children ages 0-4 are free.

Thinking about the day I got off the plane in LaGu Thinking about the day I got off the plane in LaGuardia, was picked up by one of my dearest friends and spent the entire day at the beach just catching up on LIFE.

It was a breezy day. Overcast. A little chilly to be in a suit, but it was perfect to catch up with my girl Candy. Sometimes, if you have chosen your friends well, you can pick up where you left off, as if no time has passed at all.

Just like I did, sitting in that beach chair, feeling the mist of the Atlantic Ocean, and watching the seagulls pick and the seaweed.

Thank you Candy! For the friendship, for dropping everything to come and pick me up. Drive me around and have dinner with me and Fayth.

Wishing I was sitting on this beach with you right now!!!

Missing my @migaventajado The short time I had w Missing my @migaventajado

The short time I had with this guy in Florida was definitely something I will look back on. Wish we had more time to explore and do some fun things on our own.

Gah. How is this kid 20 years old already?
I remember when he was little and he loved peanut butter, chicken nuggets, Kylie Minogue, and sitting on my lap. He was squishy, in tune with my feelings, and I was always worried that he might have an asthma attack in his sleep so I would nebulize him every few hours. He always looked at new experiences with gratitude and wonder, much how he did while we were in FL together.😍

Praying he continues to strengthen his faith as he grows. 🙏🏻👨🏻🙌🏻

Miss you Miggy!
I’ll be sharing a little bit about my faith toda I’ll be sharing a little bit about my faith today with some university students.

I have shared my testimony with other mommas, women in our community, and parents through this platform and others. It’s always come naturally and has often ended in tears of gratitude and joy for His faithfulness and unending LOVE.

Of course, sharing parts of myself with others who may find it helpful is a privilege. But for some reason, I am always just a little bit anxious and apprehensive right before I am about to present parts of my story.

Perhaps today, I’m anxious because the format for how I will share is a bit different, I won’t have the comforts I have gotten used to since working from home. Instead I’ll print some cue cards for myself so I can stay on task and within my given time period.

I love the opportunity this endeavor has given me, to reflect on His presence in my life. He’s been there all along, even if I didn’t know it. I love the understanding that I can have these intimate conversations with my Creator knowing that He has plans for me. He loves me. He knows all the hairs on my head. And that He knows what I need to fulfill my purpose.

This doesn’t mean I won’t have challenges, or times when I feel broken in my life and faith. In fact, there have been many times where my faith has faltered. All of it just means that He is fortifying me through each and every lesson. He is allowing me to create a greater understanding of who I am, where I am supposed to be, and how He will get me there.

Do you share parts of your faith here?
What does that look like?
