I have this friend Neva.
When I decided to put myself out into the blogosphere, her blog was one of the first blogs I found. As I read her blog, I realized we had more in common than I thought. At the time, she just welcomed her second baby into the folds of her family and he had Down Syndrome…just like Gelli.
I read a couple of entries and then I commented on her blog (remember I was totally new to anything about blogs at that time) and felt like I immediately had to connect with her.
Fast forward to the time when Nino and I were asked to attend the Early Intervention Seminar and share our story about Gelli and her therapies, where Dan and Neva both attended. I could see the pain in her eyes, and knew that I sat where she was sitting, exactly one year before. I felt like we were in this thing together, and since then, we have developed a wonderful friendship that I can seek comfort and advice from, as well as provide a port in the storm when she needs one too…
Recently, Neva collaborated with Stache Clothing to come up with inspirational tees and onesies for our lil’ ones. I had heard of Stache before and thought that their tees were super cute, so I was even more excited when Neva told me that there was another facet to their collaboration that I could appreciate. For every onesie and tee that is purchased from The Manila Mommy Collection, Stache Clothing will donate P45 to Best Buddies.
Did someone say CLOTHING WITH A CAUSE?
Y’all know I love a good cause right? And y’all know how much we love Best Buddies, right?
Check out these tees and tell me how much you would like your kiddo to imbibe these inspirational sayings.
“And though she be but little, she is FIERCE…” Gelli came into this world and has consistently shown me that she is strong willed and fierce. Have you ever heard of that study with the water? Well, there is this study that was done by a Japanese scientist where he figured out that water crystals would form differently based on what kind of music was playing, by what words or pictures would be on the outside of the pitcher, and even by videos and words spoken.
If we take his theory seriously…can you imagine the possibilities of your kids wearing these inspirational tees?
The possibilities are endless.
