Father’s Day is coming up and quickly!
Because my own dad is back home in Florida, we will only be able to greet him on Face Time. That means that the whole day is reserved for Nino and everything that he would like to do, and see, and eat.
From the very first Father’s Day that Nino and I celebrated together (while Gia was in my tummy) to celebrating this weekend with a few good friends, and the family that we choose, with a simple barbecue, one thing has always remained the same.
Celebrating Nino is simple ways that are meaningful and full of love.
That doesn’t mean that we don’t enjoy treating Nino to something special. We do that sometimes too!
But, because I have always tried to make it affordable (remember we have four kids) I usually ask the littlest of the four to prepare something cute that she can make with her hands which he will appreciate even more than anything that we can buy in a store.
Gelli had a good time with this one, don’t you think?
I simply printed out the Mad Libs type fill in the blank worksheet, printed out Nino’s picture on sticker paper, and sat with Gelli long enough for her to answer the questions.
It came out really cute, and of course it was funny to hear her answers.
I also pulled and printed the glasses for them to wear together and be matchy matchy. (Gelli always tries to take Nino’s glasses and wears them. She’s so funny.) Now, instead of us freaking out because she has his glasses in her hands, we can do this one together instead!
What do you guys do for Father’s Day?
Love you Michelle!
