Earlier this month, my friend Claudette asked me if I was free to spend some time with her one afternoon.
Because I really enjoy my time with her and her husband Neil, I, of course, freed up my schedule so we could indulge in some “girl time.”
Claudette wanted to gift me with a facial from her favorite place, for my birthday.
She arranged for us to have a “couple’s room” and enjoy the superior services of The Aivee Clinic.
Luckily, she was also free afterwards, and we even enjoyed dinner together with Nino, because he was able to accompany me for the afternoon.
I thoroughly enjoy time on the table when it comes to caring for my skin. These are some of the things that I do now, (because i’m 44 this year) that enable me to take better care of myself and fight the signs of aging. Regular visits to the dermatologist is just one of the things I can do for my physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
Agree?
Agree!
So, because I chose the Signature White C Facial, I thought I would share what one could expect from availing of this treatment when you visit The Aivee Clinic.
After my technician, Irene, washed my face, we moved to the Skin Analysis Machine.
Apparently, this machine is only available in the BGC location.
It’s a new machine.
And I’m going to be completely honest, in my sharing.
I don’t like this machine!
HAHAHAHA!
After the different angles of photos that the machine were captured and processed, I realized that years of sun worshipping may have done a little more damage than I care to admit. Apparently, my skin age is much older than my real age. I asked Irene if the machine takes into consideration that I’m not fully Filipino and that perhaps my freckles may have been a factor.
Either way, it was eye opening for me to also realize that I must step up my skincare regimen.
Once I was all settled back on the table, with my shoes off, my feet up, and a blanket to keep me warm during the procedure, Irene was able to begin the different parts of the procedure involved in my facial.
Irene started with a steam treatment that would open up my pores and prepare my skin for the goodness that she was going to later massage into my thirsty pores.
After the steam treatment she massaged my skin with a cleanser. It was super fresh and relaxing.
I remembered a time passed when Nino and I were disagreeing. I went in for a treatment at another spa and came out of the spa unable to frown or pout. I felt as if the massage during the facial was slowly removing the stress away that I was carrying in the frown of my facial muscles.
Does that make sense?
Ok, let me explain. When you get a full body massage, you are relaxed. After your massage, you want to veg. Not do anything. If you are lucky, you can lay down and rest. Fall asleep, even. That’s the whole point of the massage right?
After a facial, I want to do the same. While Irene was massaging and cleansing my skin, my facial muscles started to relax and that process alone made me happy. We all want to be happy. This little treat was already making me happy!
Hooray for happiness!
Have you heard of that saying that it takes more muscles to frown than to smile? After a quick google search, I see that there isn’t much difference in using your facial muscles to frown or smile, but it certainly feels better when we are smiling right?
Next step in the procedure was the Diamond Peel.
This was the second time for me to experience this type of treatment. In fact, I have written about it before and convinced myself that I should avail of this treatment at least twice a year because my skin looked fabulous after this non invasive procedure. I felt like my skin glowed a bit afterwards, and my friend even said (at that time) that my skin looked dewy and fresh.
Unfortunately, life gets a hold of us sometimes, and I don’t always get to treat myself like this, as much as I would like to. Thank goodness Claudette insisted on this birthday treat for me!
After the Diamond Peel, my technician focused on the deep cleaning. Removing blackheads and the various milia was not a ticklish procedure, but it leaves for a cleaner face with less blemishes. This was a bit painful, but definitely worth it, when I examined my skin afterwards. I could see the difference and overall my skin was smoother and more even toned without the little bumps.
Once we were done with the deep cleaning and she had a smoother base to work with, Irene applied toner, and called for the dermatologist to inject an anti inflammatory and an antibiotic into a very big pimple that I had growing on my forehead. I was surprised that this blemish went away within days. The medicine helped it along and it didn’t hang out for more than a week, like they normally do.
The next step in my Signature White C Facial was applying an antibiotic cream on all the sights where blemishes were removed to prevent infection. She used an anti inflammatory light and then applied a Vitamin C serum by massaging my skin a bit more. It was delicious. The citrusy aroma stayed with me even through thru the application of the collagen mask which was cold when she applied it to my skin.
After the collagen mask hardened, Irene peeled it off so carefully, ensuring that the relaxing massages were not wasted in this final step, of my facial.
I felt relaxed, refreshed, and grateful that my friend, Claudette and I were able to enjoy a few moments of quiet pampering in a place where they know so much about skincare and taking care of their clients while fighting the signs of ageing through various treatments.
After my procedure was done, I was able to tour the facilities in the flagship location for The Aivee Clinic. I was surprised to see a newly renovated Drip Lounge, where clients can also avail of quick manicures and pedicures while receiving their infusions. I saw the treatment rooms where you can relax and indulge in body scrubs, full body massages, and the exclusive Ulthera treatments for which The Aivee Clinic leads the country in this option of health and well being, as well.
