For those of you who are returning readers, y’all know how fond I am of Makati Shangri-la.
I have heart strings that run deep with Makati Shangri-la because that’s where Nino and I grew into our beginning. He was young and idealistic. I was bright eyed and busy tailed, wanting to make a difference in the world and be taken seriously.
I love that that part of our history is still standing. It’s a living breathing part of the city, not just for the travelers who come in and out of Makati for business, but for the families who are building lives and creating memories here as well.
It’s a place to celebrate. To sit in the lobby and have tea. It’s a place where proposals unfolded, and marriages come to be. When there is a “go to” place for your family, it becomes a place where stories are intertwined and history is made.
This weekend, Nino and I will have a household full of four graduates. My parents are here to witness it all. And honestly, I cannot believe how far we have come. Gia will graduate senior high school. Miguel has moved on from junior high. Diego will graduate elementary school, and Gelli moves up to kindergarten. Four graduates. Four tremendous blessings. Four pieces of my heart running around outside of my body, making their own difference in this world that Nino and I have been given.

From our fateful conversations in the lobby of Makati Shangri-la almost 21 years ago, we have grown. SO. MUCH.
And because all of our graduation ceremonies are back to back to back we have decided to celebrate on Sunday, at Makati Shangri-la for their first ever PICNIC.
The Picnic is where the best of all four outlets in Makati Shangri-la will be made available in their Sunday Brunch Buffet. Diners will be able to enjoy all the delicacies and sweets of Sage Bespoke Grill, Inagiku, Shang Palace, and Sinfully Circles. Brunch lovers all over the metro can take advantage of the award winning chefs and their years of experience, their creations, and the love of all things food and fare from 11am to 3pm.
If you are the type to enjoy a glass of bubbly during Sunday brunch, then you can take advantage of the option to enjoy the finest champagnes with the lavish buffet that the chefs of Makati Shangri-la have prepared. And as always, the whole family will be welcome.
I was so excited to learn of this new brunch option that will become a regular staple at Shang through the invitation to learn how to make the coveted macarons which are included in The Lobby Lounge Treasure Tea Boxes las month in the pastry kitchen with Chef Yolly. Check out the fun I had while picking up some tips and tricks to creating this sweet treat at home.
If you would like to join our family this coming Sunday for some fun at one of the premier hotels here in the metro be sure to book your table ahead of time. There is still time to book and create some memories of your own. We will be dining in Inagiku and are looking forward to celebrating this very special time in our lives at a very special place in our history.
