Health & Beauty Review

Ultralipo at Vietura Aesthetic Lifestyle

Last year, I shared how exciting it was that Vietura was partnering with me and my blog to offer my readers a more in depth view into the non-invasive treatments that they specialize in.

Having a set plan for my skin and health care feels really good. I enjoy my time away from the responsibilities of motherhood, house, and home. I don’t feel guilty about taking care of myself.

After writing that first blog post, I’ll admit that I haven’t been able to visit as frequently as I would have liked, but I’m finally back on track to taking better care of myself. There were quite a few months that got away from me. From the round up and busy days before and after holidays, it seemed like I just could not get a handle on managing my time and getting things straight for myself.

This new found commitment to taking better care of myself, came on the heels of a hellish weekend that was chock full of activities. After being terribly sick just before writing this,  and having that particular Saturday where our family of six needed to be in 5 different places at once, we rounded it off with a ton more activities all to take place on a Sunday as well. After that weekend, I knew that I wanted that particular Monday to be kicked off with better self care.

The treatment rooms are all very calming and relaxing. Because this was a relatively easy treatment to undergo, I almost fell asleep!

The treatment rooms in Vietura are all very calming and relaxing. Because this was a relatively easy treatment to undergo, I almost fell asleep!

So I arranged for some quiet time in the Vietura treatment rooms.

Originally, I had planned for a PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment to kick off my new found self care routine, but after meeting with Doc Paolo, he suggested I try something a little less invasive. I was still on antibiotics from the bacterial strep the week before, so,  he asked if I was ready to start my Ultralipo treatment instead.

Ultralipo at Vietura is simple, painless, and easy. I had heard about my friend, Jackie‘s experience with Ultralipo and was super curious as to whether I would experience the same kind of amazing results.

The Ultralipo machine is unassuming and has a wand that the technician rubs across your belly. (Very similar to an ultrasound when you are pregnant) When the technician goes back and forth over the areas of concern, you hear this really high pitched ringing sound. ( I heard it the entire time she was using the wand.)

The technician sets the intensity level with a touch of a screen.

This high pitched ringing sound is using the ultrasound technology to break up fat deposits. From what I learned, your body will then naturally excrete the broken down fat out when you relieve yourself after the treatment. This process of ridding your body of the fat that was broken down can take place up to one week after your treatment.

To be honest, I was a bit skeptical as to whether or not I would see a big difference, physically…BUT I totally did. For days, I kept looking at myself in the mirror to find a flatter tummy.

Truth is, I have been a little self conscious in the past years of my lack of stomach muscles. It doesn’t affect me all the time, but it does bother me when I have to put on a form fitting dress or top. I know it shouldn’t bother me because the extra skin, stretch marks, and loosey goosey stomach means I was blessed with the ability to carry four beautiful miracles.

Trying out this treatment, coupled with eating in moderation, and getting back on the mat will definitely have me feeling better about myself and the upcoming summer months.

The only regret I have for this treatment, is not measuring my waist line for before and after proof.  I know my friend Jackie did to show the proven results of her first treatment. I will remember to do this the next time I undergo this procedure, simply because the proof is in the pudding.

Now, that we are starting a new year, I have an even newer sense of commitment to bringing my “sexy back.” Nino has lost quite a bit of weight, and I feel as if I have to play catch up to his new found interest in a healthier lifestyle. (Plus, I want to spend some time with him in the gym.) Plus…as they say now “Strong is the new Sexy.”

So, I will be back to Vietura to enjoy the benefits of many of their non invasive treatments for both health and beauty, and I will couple these treatments with watching what I eat, (no more dessert after every meal) and finding my way back on the mat at Evolve Yoga and Fitness. Wish me luck.

I think I can…I think I can…I think I can…I think I can…

This is our first church. The most important small This is our first church. The most important small group. In this group, we model the behavior that we want to see. We are mindful to show our best selves to our children. That does not mean that we are the best parents, nor perfect people. It just means that even when we aren’t at our best, we can work through the hurt and explain and process with our kids. Talking along the way, saying sorry when we are wrong, and taking the time to encourage our kids to be humble in all we do. It’s not easy. It’s a work in progress, but these guys are a great team to be learning side by side with.

While Nino and and I were watching them, we also saw an older family. A Lolo and a Lola with their three sons and their wives and children. It was endearing to see how they were all having a good time and Lolo was so hands on. I pray that we have that too. It was such a joy to watch my kids play together and then side by side, remember when they were smaller and then imagine what it would be like when they have families of their own.

****LONG POST**** For each child I birthed, I grew ****LONG POST****
For each child I birthed, I grew. Motherhood continuously pushed me beyond my understanding of love. I figured out what real fear was, with each problem or worry for a child that would eventually leave my arms and I would not be able to protect from the woes and worries of this world. @gelliaventajado ‘s birth turned everything upside down and showed us how things changed if we started to zoom out and look at the big picture.

Because of Gelli’s extra chromosome, I stepped outside my comfort zone. I realized how little I knew. I saw the not so pretty jagged parts of myself that I didn’t even know existed. I saw how much I could give of myself, and I was amazed at both the kindness and the cruelty of our flawed human condition. I connected with other mothers in different parts of the world, while understanding that at any given moment, so many of us share the same trials and triumphs as the thread of exceptionality stretched beyond what we thought we could be...
•
•
•
But with stretching & growth comes the parts of ourselves where the honesty of those difficult moments calls for a coming together. Because coming together makes us stronger and provides comfort in the idea that sharing the raw real extremely vulnerable moments of motherhood somehow builds our resilience and STRENGTH. Because mommas are in fact, #StrongerTogether.

Privileged to be part of this group of mommas who will have some real conversations in April with @justwhenyouthinkshesdown and @sineadquinnofficial for the #StrongerTogetherEvent. This digital gathering will bring women from all of the world to a safe space where we can share stories, and learn from one another, while interacting with participants, speakers, and panel discussions in a community that is inclusive.

National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month has come to a close and March has already begun. March is #BestBuddiesMonth, and this means we will busier than ever with virtual events on mental health, awareness for #WDSD2021, socials so our buddies don’t feel isolated, and educational awareness seminars for parents who are gearing up for another summer in quarantine. The first three months of the year are always a whirlwind for advocacy for our family. I really love planning and mounting these different events and collaborating with other orgs for the benefit of this little.

My gosh. She will be 10 soon. And that was the quickest 10 years that went by. Still in awe of this girl’s spunk, her wit, beauty, and intuitive pulse on what’s going on in our family. Thank You Lord for sending her to us. And Thank You Lord for sending us all the people who we have connected with because of our love for her.

When I was a young mom, I had all these lofty idea When I was a young mom, I had all these lofty ideas about what kinda mom I would be. And I thought I had it all under control. Then I had a son who I would furiously look for when he was quiet, and another son who was accident prone. And I realized I was outnumbered. And then Gelli joined our family and made us a team. Through all the mishaps and dirty naps, with the help of friends, family and the Grace of God, I’m still standing! Visited @theblocbyjuniesierraandco on Thursday an Visited @theblocbyjuniesierraandco on Thursday and experienced @argilaamazoniaphilippines for the first time. You guys know I’m so super low maintenance with my hair care that I really need it to be wash and go. Top three things I loved about my experience were:
💙 I felt safe in the salon with excellent protocols.
💙 The products were all so delicious. The scents and steps were like a cross between candy and fruit, and were very relaxing.
💙 Because the ingredients are all natural, I learned that #ArgilaAmazoniaPH is safe to use while pregnant and breastfeeding!
