Sunday Brunch is always a good idea. It seems that the joy of brunching for hours on end, became something we could only do in the comfort of our own home over the last two years. Thankfully, Waterside BBQ Brunch Buffet at Solaire has opened up another option for #TeamGellibean. Now we can explore a new place to brunch with the whole family! This bar and resto located in Solaire, easily transitions to a bright family friendly spot perfect for relaxing and soaking up those last bits of the weekend.

Something for Everyone
Brunch Barbecue fare includes tender beef brisket, sticky corn bread, and lip smacking rib meat that fell off that the bone. When I think about what accompanies these charred meaty dishes, there are always side dishes that include baked beans, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and mom’s potato salad. Thankfully, these free flowing side dishes were generous in both serving and size.

Nino and I enjoyed deliciously smoked and flavorful meats that were all reminiscent of a home cooked backyard BBQ where friends and family gather around the grill and share summer stories. BBQ’s like this mean warm weather and that feel good vibe. Waterside BBQ Brunch Buffet also included Jerk chicken that was tender and packed with flavor, barrel smoked pork belly that hit the spot, and homemade sausages.

There is quite a bit of seafood on the menu too. Chef Alfredo ensures pescatarians will have a plenitude of choices with creamy grilled oysters, tender charred octopus, cajun king fish, and a shellfish shrimp boil.

If the kids were with us, I know they would have enjoyed the buttermilk fried chicken, crispy battered fish and chips, nachos and even the creamed corn.
Eggciting Options
Of course, Brunch isn’t brunch without the eggs!
Choices included Pulled Pork Eggs Benny, bathed in a rich chipotle hollandaise, omelets, frittatas with chorizo, and Scotch Eggs served with beer mustard. You know the thing I love most about Brunch Buffets like this? We can enjoy anything under the sun (and beside the water) and by adding eggs, your meal suddenly has delectable brekkie feels.

Live Music
Live music sets the tone for any meal. With lively tunes from a 3 piece band, the whole family can come together with each buffet plate that is brought to the table. I thoroughly enjoyed that each component to the buffet is brought to the table on small plates. Small plates, big music, and a shift to family friendly restaurant that is usually only open in the evenings for sunset drinks creates awesome opportunities to safely bond and break bread.
Sweet Endings

As with any buffet, we look forward to finishing our meal with a sweet ending. Brunchers can choose from a donut wall, to a build your own banana split, and a milk shake bar that is completely stocked. Dessert lovers can enjoy sweet treats that are created to their liking complete with sprinkles, chocolate, brownies and fresh fruit. I did think it was interesting that Nino decided to forego all the bells and whistles by ordering a simple vanilla milkshake with sliced bananas.

Perhaps you would rather indulge in deliciously crafted cakes? This part of the dessert buffet included classic chocolate layer cake, strawberry confetti cake, and a rich red velvet cake. These cakes are all perfect to finish this indulgent meal with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
