I first met Lia when my friend Mawi asked me if I wanted to learn more about Reiki. I had experienced the healing properties of Reiki when I was in the states finishing up one of my yoga certifications, and as a treat to myself, I had a healing session with a very nice lady in Decatur, Georgia.
Mawi asked me if I wanted to attend Lia’s Reiki Level One workshop, and because I was curious to learn more I jumped at the chance to attend. Together, we studied Reiki and I realized that there was a healing modality that fit perfectly with my study of yoga.
AS IN PERFECTLY…
I learned more about the chakras, how to heal myself, how to heal my children and how to just feel better overall, by attending the series of workshops that Lia was offering to all of us, so that we could help others.
While my study stopped at Reiki level two, Lia continued to delve deeper by exploring quite a few more healing modalities and because of my friendship with her, I have enjoyed the fringe benefits of her studies. It’s all part of my process, (this much I know) and when I’m with this particular group of ladies, I can’t do much more than laugh and feel good…in fact when we are all together, we go home with belly and smile aches from laughing so much…
You have those kinds of friends, dontchya? (If you don’t, I suggest you find some. They are great for your health.)
Awhile back, when Lia was putting together this forgiveness class she offered it to us first. I went into this class hoping to find it easier to forgive myself for those first few days after Gelli was born. Other people who were attending her workshop were trying to figure out how to find forgiveness in their hearts for people in their lives who have hurt or wronged them so deeply.
Lia opened up the workshop by sharing an anecdote of a prison warden who was able to rehabilitate an entire population of inmates with the Ho’Oponopono method. (I took note of the anecdote because the skeptic in me would visit Mr. Google later to find out if there was any truth to the story.)
The thing I like about Lia’s classes and workshops? It’s so easy and relaxed. You can share or NOT share. You can take it all in quietly, or take lotsa notes and ask questions. You go home with handouts, which of course doesn’t even compare to how great you feel when it’s time to go home. If there was a class you could take to help you deepen your self awareness…this is one of them. (She offers others too, by the way.)
I learned so much on this day. I was able to begin the process of forgiving myself with 4 simple sentences.
- I am sorry.
- Please forgive me.
- I love you.
- Thank you.
Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Actually, it is. If you are interested in attending a class like this-you are in luck…
