As a mom, I need to know that the clothes I invest in for my children are going to stand the test of time. These clothes for my kids need to be made well. Aside from being made well, they also need to celebrate each of my children’s differences and styles without making them appear older than they really are.

Gingersnaps has a way of dressing my girls that is age appropriate, fun, fashionable, and tasteful without being too trendy.
Specifically, this means that when my then 12 year old daughter would like to pick out a nice dress for a special occasion or a family photo shoot where we have to wear similar colors, I actually would like her to look like she’s 12…and not 24. Where do we go for such a stylish, colorful, dress that is age appropriate and well made?
Why, Gingersnaps of course.
Truth: I ALWAYS get excited when I know that one of my kids has received a birthday or Christmas gift from Gingersnaps.
Another Truth: I get equally excited picking out special gifts for my nieces and my nephews from Gingersnaps and having it wrapped in their trademark box/bag with a handle. It also makes my life easier because I don’t have to think of how to wrap our gift creatively. A box from Gingersnaps is one that is always received with gratitude. It’s recognizable and appreciated.

Tin attests to the timelessness and durability of Gingersnaps fashion for kids during the Gingersnaps at 20 Fashion Show.
So when my friend Tin Dychiao of Manila Fashion Observer and SoMom Extraordinaire said that we were invited through her friend Sherry (who handles marketing) by the owners of Gingersnaps (Sabrina and Jerry Uy) to come to the Gingersnaps 20 year anniversary fashion show, I couldn’t wait to attend!
Many of the SoMoms were in attendance…and when we are all together, it’s an instant party!
I remember the very first Gingersnaps pieces my MIL brought over to NY when Gia was still a peanut. It was a white eyelet peasant top coupled with a pair of linen pants that were embellished at the cuff with white beads and button flowers. It was so adorable! She wore it well and it was super cute. People would often ask where I got her cute outfit, which I of course answered with “The Philippines,” proudly.
What intrigued me even more during the show, was when company CEO, Jerry Uy, took the stage to give a little background on the company. I learned that Gingersnaps started in Robinson’s Galleria with a space that was only 3 square meters in area, and only one person to assume the role of sales staff. It is from that small beginning that Jerry and Sabrina Uy put their heart and soul into a clothing line which has become an international brand having branches and boutiques not only here in the Philippines, but in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and UAE as well.
When the main attraction started and the newly chosen models from the “Gingersnaps Model Search” were strutting on the catwalk, even Gelli was excited! She was clapping and laughing!
Even Tin’s daughter Berry was amongst the models! Of course all the SoMoms had to cheer her on 🙂 We were all so proud of her!

Berry was all smiles, not just at the end of the show, but all through out. Great job, Berry! (Photo grab from Tin’s FB wall.)
Another thing I love about Gingersnaps? The ability to mix and match the outfits…You can double your child’s wardrobe by investing in some of the pieces that can be paired together changing the look completely.

Many mommas often complain that dressing their daughters is so much more fun than their sons…Gingersnaps makes dressing the boys JUST as fun for me! (SoKids take over the runway AFTER the show this time)
I thought it was an adorable show and celebration of Children’s Fashion! Even Diego and Gelli had fun at their very first fashion show!
